Note: Author’s Notes: I don't know that I ever expected to write something from Angela's POV, but I couldn't resist the idea of poetry from her about Jane and Maura. And then this just… happened. LOL! I should know better than to expect anything less than surprising from Angela Rizzoli.

Dedication: My muses, as usual…

Beta: None, so all mistakes are on me.

You can't really know
What'll happen to your kids.
You can try to plan,
But they have minds of their own
And will do what they want to.

My Jane did just that.
She's always been a tomboy,
Beating up the boys.
Tommy and Frankie were taught
All of their fighting by her.

I always wanted
To have a daughter that would
Give me grandchildren.
I wanted the big wedding,
And the whole fairytale day.

I didn't get that.
Jane's very independent
About her choices.
She's never vacillated
On a decision for long.

Well, until Maura…
I've never seen Jane so scared
About a decision.
She fought her feelings at first,
Wanting to just stay good friends.

But a mother knows.
Jane was so head over heels
In love with Maura,
Practically from the first day
That they met at the station.

And sweet Maura was
Completely clueless at first.
So adorable!
But she caught on soon enough
And soon her own feelings bloomed.

They danced around it,
Hiding for so many years
That they were in love.
But I knew. I'm Jane's mother,
And she can't hide anything.

The day Jane got shot
Was when everything changed.
No more hiding things,
No more surreptitious looks,
Hoping they wouldn't get caught.

It still took some time,
But they eventually
Came out to us all.
It wasn't even a shock
To those of us that love them.

The day Jane asked me
For assistance to propose
Was the best ever.
Well, no, that's not quite the truth.
It was the best till today.

Today my daughter
Fulfilled one of my wishes.
She's married Maura,
Giving me a new daughter
And the hope of more grandkids.

Maura is a gift,
Bringing so much love to us.
Rizzolis are tough,
But brute strength isn't enough.
Maura softens the edges.

To Jane and Maura,
Many congratulations
On your wedding day.
May your love always be true
And your words always honest.
